Baker Engineering is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Growth and Strategy to spearhead our expansion efforts within the Engineering and Precision Manufacturing sector. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and shaping the strategic direction of the company. Initially, the focus will be on accelerating business growth and development (3X revenue in 3 years), with a gradual transition to a more balanced responsibility between growth initiatives and strategic planning.

Responsibilities Include:
- Business Growth and Development (First 12 Months - 85% Transitioning to 70%):
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to drive Engineering and Manufacturing revenue growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including government contracts, partnerships, and acquisitions
- Lead business development efforts, including prospecting, client engagement, proposal development, and contract negotiation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business development strategies and prioritize opportunities
- Increase overall capture rate based on historical trends and current targets
- Strategy Development (First 12 months 15% - Transitioning to 30%):
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and refine the company's strategic objectives and long-term vision
- Conduct market analysis, competitive assessments, and scenario planning to inform strategic decision-making
- Evaluate potential growth opportunities, including new markets, product lines, and strategic partnerships
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth
- Provide strategic guidance and support to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record of success in business development and revenue growth within the Defense industry
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and competitive positioning
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results
- Experience with maturing and transitioning prototypes to spin offs or Programs of Record (PORs) and commercialization strategies
- Demonstrated access to key government customers such as Army, Marines, Airforce, Navy, SOCOM, DARPA, IARPA, DoD and national labs as well as industry partners
- Ability to travel as required: approximately 75% per month
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Ability to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports and a customer relationship management to track opportunities and manage pipeline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive execution
- Must be able to support the Baker culture of high-performance, results orientation, and a focus on teamwork.

- United States Citizenship / ITAR compliance required by contract
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Prior combat military service or experience.
