Responsibilities
While RS&H was founded in 1941, we have been providing construction management services as one of our primary business practices since 1984. RS&H’s Transportation-Construction Management Practice serves numerous state departments of transportation, mobility/transportation authorities, turnpike/toll authorities, rail/port authorities, municipal/county governments, and private clients throughout the United States. Our Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) teams as well as our Construction Management teams are industry leading experts who provide a full range of construction engineering, program management, specialized testing, and inspection services from the preconstruction phase through maintenance and operations. Qualifications
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management team in the Novi, MI area. The Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specifications, and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule, and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods, and procedures of a professional work environment. Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED10+ years of experience with major road or bridge construction inspectionKnowledge of road and bridge construction managementKnowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipmentAbility to manage construction inspection teams and activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projectsAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingValid Driver License and good driving recordMust obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time framesAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods of timeAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protectionAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldCertified Construction Manager (CCM) certificationProject management experience preferredMDOT CertificationsOSHA 10 hourExperience with MDOT contract specificationsBenefits:Holiday PayPaid time off401KMedical, dental, and visionPlus much much more!
