Overview
Social Media Strategist ObjectiveTo develop, plan, and execute the Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) social media communication strategy. To be responsible for the ongoing management and growth of the Michigan Farm Bureau social media presence in alignment with business strategies and direction. To directly engage with online audiences to help promote the Michigan Farm Bureau brand, products, member involvement opportunities, events, and partnerships. To offer continued support, resources, and tools to county Farm Bureaus.
Responsibilities
Social Media Strategist ResponsibilitiesCreate, manage, and grow business presence across social media channels, including but not limited to blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Develop and execute a social media strategy to promote the Michigan Farm Bureau brand, products, events, and partnerships Research, plan, and execute strategies to grow engagement, “Likes” and “Follows” as well as to engage online audiences in sharing and promoting posts. Perform day-to-day social media tasks, including posting content, appropriately responding to comments made on MFB’s social networks, and maintaining of social network infrastructures. Collaborate with centers and divisions to develop marketing and communications plans pertaining to issues and topics current and important to the agricultural industry that will leverage the social media space. Monitor social media posts and uploads by other agricultural stakeholders and share content on MFB’s social media platforms where appropriate to cross-market programs and projects. Monitor social media analytics and insights to identify user trends and opportunities. Regularly adapt MFB’s social media presence based on these findings. Provide quarterly reports with recommendations for adjustments based on results to MFB staff. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for county Farm Bureau social media efforts. Regularly review county Farm Bureau social media accounts for adherence to the standard operating procedures. Work closely with the Print and Digital Design Services team to create seasonal campaigns focused on agricultural education and awareness. Utilize media kit content supplied by the American Farm Bureau Federation to promote important issues and updates through MFB’s social media channels. Create media kit resources for county Farm Bureaus to utilize at the local level.
Qualifications
Social Media Strategist Qualifications RequiredBachelor’s degree in communications or journalism required, or equivalent experience may be considered. Three to five years of experience working in digital marketing or marketing operations required. Experience in news editing, video production, photo editing, and digital design required. Preferred:Web design experience preferred. Experience with streaming media and public relations preferred. Note: Farm Bureau offers a full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K.
