Functional Safety Engineer wanted in Troy, Michigan to Support the establishment of a safety culture at Magna Powertrain and help integrate safety processes into the Engineering Process Landscape; Create safety plans in order to plan and track safety activities within projects; Work with project teams to provide information about the progress of work products and special tasks; Ensure compliance with the relevant safety standards; Plan and perform and/or support safety audits and safety assessments; Moderate and create an internal preliminary hazard analysis and risk assessment; Support product concept development (Item Definition, HARA, functional safety concept), aligning safety requirements between OEM and suppliers; Support the safety development on the system, Hardware and Software level (develop safety requirements, support related departments); Lead and/or support system, hardware and software level analysis; Support production planning and continuous development of safety related products; Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna's Charter and Constitution Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies; Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF); Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost; Comply with safety policies and procedures; Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers; analyze customer requirements, develop product requirements (feature, systems, sub-systems) and component level requirements into requirements for management platform; lead safety analysis on system, hardware, software; use Ansys Medini; Analyze model based software for integrated tooling safety analysis of electrical and electronic components and software controlled systems; analyze CAN database signals and perform functional interface analysis; develop safety architecture in accordance with ISO26262; and Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
