Job Description:
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently seeking an Engineer for our Superior Township, MI facility to join the Over-The-Air (OTA) Operations team within Vehicle Software Group. Your team's main focus is on evaluating, validating, operating, and managing production vehicle OTA software updates for the North American market. As the OTA Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting North American OTA operations, which oversee vehicle software updates and telematics data analyses.
Core Responsibilities
Engage in engineering projects spanning various aspects of OTA systems, ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable software updates for North American production vehicles
Conduct pre-production OTA testing and evaluation, along with post-production update validation, field monitoring, and troubleshooting to uphold quality standards
Identify root causes of issues, design effective solutions, and collaborate with HQ to implement and deploy them successfully
Perform Vehicle Customer Relationship Management (VCRM) data analysis to gain insights into customer needs, and develop dashboards, troubleshooting processes, and tools accordingly
Travel both domestically and internationally, up to 20% of your time
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
Experience in automotive or embedded product development
Experience in software development for vehicle Electric & Electronic systems, telematics systems, controller units, or related products
Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and network systems (such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and in operating data acquisition systems like ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe
Ability to thrive in an agile work environment with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
Experience in automotive Software Requirements Specifications for in-vehicle network management or OTA system software
Understanding of automotive telematics systems, server architecture, and cloud services
Experience in automotive telematics data analytics
Experience in production software lifecycle, including requirements, system design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for vehicle systems
Familiarity with classic and adaptive AUTOSAR
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C, and C++
Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps-CI/CD processes and tools
