About the Role
The Automotive Value Program Manager is responsible for defining and executing value initiatives (estimated number of measures is +2000 measures every year) & strategy across HARMAN Automotive Division considering all Region, Business Units, Customer Products & Projects (pre- and post-SOP) with the focus on value increase & improvement on BOM, BOL, BOP, COPQ & Sustainability.
What You Will Do
Ensure profitability of the division with day-to-day integration and tracking of ideas/measures to secure the pipeline vs. target, own the measures, and monitor VM ideas across the organization by being:
Leader of Facilitating the generation of measures with functions and stakeholder
XSBU & XCG -> Automotive VM
Single SBU & Single CG -> SBU and or CG
Manufacturing -> Manufacturing
Quality -> Quality
CO2e improvement
Definition, integrator of cross-functional team members in the Value Management cross-functional teams
Lead, execute, and deliver the VM roadmap, vision, and strategy.
Fostering purpose-driven, highly effective teams with clear ownership & accountability
Ensure the efficiency of teams by mentoring team members and challenging the status quo
Lead the team to ensure transparency with data and analytics.
Drive measures based on input from procurement, manufacturing, engineering, customer group, and quality.
Responsible and driver of risk assessment of measures
Responsible and driver of feasibility studies based on given standards/constraints.
Execute vision and strategy of the divisional Value Management activities with
Drive creation of a detailed implementation planning at the project & product level
Target delivery review, challenge, track implementation plans
Drive steering committee for implementation commitment
Owner of cross-functional meetings and reporting of status quo
Driving the cross-functional Value Management teams, Monitoring and Tracking of implementation progress.
Ensure highly effective cross-functional teams to realize best-in-class cost improvements:
Fostering Team Integrity
Lead the VM Budget and request the VM Budget
Leading overall VM communication and reporting to stakeholders:
Automotive Value Management Lead
Functional executive leadership
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Economics
Minimum 10 years of work experience as a Program Manager in the automotive business
Minimum 12 years work experience in the following areas:
Cost engineering of electronic systems
Valuemangement knowledge of electronic systems
Design & development of electronic systems
Commercial basics in Procurement, controlling, and accounting
Design for Assembly experience in electronic systems
Automotive Quality processes
CO2e improvement
Professional knowledge in electronic, electrical & mechanical components integrated into an assembly
Ability to solve complex technical topics through structure solutions. Must be able to influence others to drive alignment on proposed technical and commercial cost initiatives.
Ability to break down manufacturing assembly processes down to the component level
Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to present complex technical & commercial topics
What is Nice to Have
Master's degree
Technical competency in electronic products (Electrical, Mechanical, Semiconductor components)
Experience with a data-leveraged approach to driving progress & measuring results.
German, Portuguese, or Chinese skills are a plus.
