This is a Chippewa Valley Education Association position and will follow the teacher calendar.
This position is grant funded.
Experience on the salary scale is not available.

Reports to:
The Executive Director of Innovation and Learning and the Building Principal
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required with valid current State of Michigan teaching certificate
Master's Degree in reading and language arts preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the MTSS framework to ensure fidelity of implementation within the school building
Direct modeling of best practices and coaching/co-teaching lessons with staff on reading instruction and interventions, especially when providing practice opportunities for new teaching strategies and interventions
Delivers targeted interventions with students to increase student growth and reading achievement
Reviews all pertinent literacy data to develop plans and building supports to improve reading and writing achievement that aligns to the district school improvement plan and MTSS framework
Supports all aspects of reading assessment and progress monitoring; serves as a resource for the building with NWEA, Fastbridge, and any other relevant literacy assessment
Works with building staff to effectively implement Tier I instruction and to address Tier II supports based on student needs
Develops intervention plans for small groups and individual students as needed
Serves as a communication and resource liaison in literacy curriculum, assessment, and instruction
Attends professional development and provides relevant training and sharing of information with building team
Collaborates with the Executive Director of Innovation and Learning and the Education Services Department for district planning and implementation of MTSS, school improvement, reading instruction, interventions, and assessments
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Innovation and Learning
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of successful teaching experience (preferred)
Participation in the School Improvement process/MTSS process preferred
Advanced Training in the Science of Reading (e.g.: Top Ten Tools, LETRS)
Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of the Science of Reading and best practices of reading instruction
Solid understanding of benchmark and progress monitoring assessments, reports, and data utilization
Knowledge of adult learning theory and collaborative teams
Skills:
Problem Solving Skills, required
Good oral and written communication skills, required
Strong interpersonal skills, required
Skillful in the use of Schoology, Teams, and any other instructional technology application preferred
