The Material coordinator position at Wayne Wire is key part of our operations team, and coordinates all aspects of material management for our Hillman facilities operations.

Summary
The Material Coordinator leads day-to-day materials activities and provides support and direction back to the corporate materials team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and control activities related to the procurement function for the Hillman facility.
Work with corporate materials department to analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
Work with the Corporate Materials and Quality department to develop and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a competitive price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
Coordinates and maintains the proper inventory levels, inventory mix, and inventory turns.
Develop and coordinate measurements to monitor overall stock
Analyzes monthly metrics to measure vendor performance and replenishment activity
Monitor and report reject and scrap levels and assist with resolution
Research and resolve discrepant inventory issues
Identify weaknesses in current system and drive process improvement
Education
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school; or three years (3) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
Experience with ISO9000, lean manufacturing, Kanban pull systems, and MRP systems.
Competencies
Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines and work flow; ability to work without management direction; use initiative and possess a positive attitude toward teamwork.
Highly ethical in all actions and reporting, maintaining a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization.
Develop and implement improved procedures and work flow systems.
Travel
Travel to our corporate offices (Kalkaska, MI ) maybe required at times to support Hillman's material goals.
