Job Overview
The Families That Flourish – Reporting to the Lead Teacher, the Childcare Assistant is responsible for professional and positive attitude and loving demeanor with children ages groups infants, toddlers, preschool or school-age programs up to 12 years old. This position requires on-site, face-to-face leadership. The center’s hours require full-time (40 hours/week), flexible scheduling between 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Multiple positions available. Part time 4 shifts available.
COMPENSATION
$14.00 - $15.00; Full-Time; Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)
Responsibilities for a Childcare Assistant
- Reliable
- Ability to float from classroom to classroom and supervise children from infant age to school age.
- Clean and maintain center areas.
- Assist children during activities.
- Prior experience working with children.
- Patience, flexibility and love for children
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education-Training available!
Skills
Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher
Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
Methodical and creative
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

Day Shift (Preferred)
Work Location: In person.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Blood Borne Pathogen training.
- CPR Certification required within the first 60 days.
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days.
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- Fingerprinting
- DHS clearance
- Negative T.B. skin test
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition.
- Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities.
- Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority.
