Position Summary: Work with the Food Service Manager to prepare all meals for the summer camp program.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with the menus provided and served on time
Prepare duty plans for all food production staff including proper usage of portioning utensils
Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food supply storage areas
Help with receiving, checking and proper storage of all food orders
Prepare and supervise kitchen staff in cleaning lists for daily and weekly completion
Keep food service production records for meals served
Ensure the safe handling of all food products during all stages of storage, preparation, and service, using frequent temperature testing and preparation sanitation methods, documenting as necessary by local ordinance or safe food handling protocols
Observe and note working condition and temperatures for all equipment including refrigerator/freezer units to be within standard requirements, reporting any issues immediately
Supervise timely pulling and thawing of necessary supplies and foods following guidelines
Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and closed at the end of each day
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
2 years of food service management experience preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
Willingness to learn new software as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
ServSafe Certification preferred
