Summary of Position: | The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for the consistent delivery of a broad range of analytical HR support while administering policies, process, procedures and programs covering several or all of the following areas: employment, immigration and labor relations. The Senior HR Generalist must display a commitment to providing superior customer service and value while working with a diversity constituency. The Senior HR Generalist is expected to be responsive, excel at problem solving, and possesses the ability to multi-task in a high volume department. To be successful in the role, the Senior HR Generalist must have demonstrated strength in communicating effectively, timely and professionally. Proficiency with MS Office including Excel and the attention to detail is required. | |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | SHRM – CP or PHR Specific experience in administering policies and programs covering several or all of the following areas: recruitment, compensation, employment, immigration and labor relations Experience with complex data analysis. Experience in a higher education or union environment. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in HRS systems. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Banner HR. | |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | 1. Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and contributes to an inclusive working and learning environment. 2. Serve as the primary contact for position description creation and updates and ensure compliance with contracts, policy, procedures and regulations. 3. Serve as the primary contact for unemployment processing, monitoring and billing, including serving as our representative at unemployment hearings. 3. Process employee separations, including communication, system processing, tracking, and meetings. 4. Prepare the regular BOT report for CHRO review. 5. Provide FNTFO contract tracking and processing. 6. Assist with the credentialing process of all employees. 7. Provide information and collect data for the immigration process, work with the CHRO and legal counsel. 8. Provide information and process in areas such as but not limited to position reclassification, ADA, & Blended Assignments. 9. Review time entry information for assigned areas. 10. Serve as a back up for the recruitment and hiring process. 11. Serve as a back up for Student Employment. 12.Provide complete, accurate and timely data entry in the HRS system. 13. Provide excellent customer service, be responsive to inquires, and work to identify and resolve problems. 14. Maintain cooperative professional relationships with applicants, employees, peers, supervisor, managers and the community in general, in a professional manner in-person, via email and other interactions. 15. Responsible for maintaining, reconciling, and auditing HR data. 16. Guide faculty and staff in compliance with policies/procedures and contract language. 17. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations related to HR responsibilities. 18. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with University policies, procedures, and applicable laws. 19. Maintain confidentiality of appropriate HR and employee information. 20. Travel to other Ferris locations, as assigned and needed. 21.
