Responsible and accountable for all cell product definition as it relates to cell design, release, fabrication, manufacturing, and associated assembly equipment; under the guidance of the Director of Cell Engineering, deliver hands-on product engineering leadership and support to an empowered work process driven manufacturing organization, while adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S), quality, and operations; act as subject matter expert for cell designs and products, and a Li-ion technology resource as well; collaborate and provide engineering support to company Energy Operations and other engineering groups; develop and document cell product definition, including cell component and assembly drawings along with associated specification; use expertise in mechanical product design, reading and creating drawings, and engineering specifications to develop and ensure optimal product development; implement product and support engineering process improvements, as well as develop, update, and implement job procedures and operating disciplines; utilize Minitab, SolidWorks, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, quality assurance, and battery cell manufacturing to perform duties; develop and provide engineering assistance for operating personnel; provide engineering support to pilot plants, operations, and quality, ensuring product documents and manufacturing procedures align and meet internal and external customer expectations; provide engineering support to the respective departments in the execution of cell product builds, meeting business demands and including documentation of such builds; assist in the management and implementation of systems and new engineering process technologies to reduce variation, produce quality products, reduce inventory, and reduce costs of operations; initiate and support capital project improvements; provide engineering support to the Quality Assurance Department as the voice of the customer within the plant as related to cell product design; lead plant troubleshooting efforts and coordinate cell product improvement projects with plant operations; and ensure the cells meet or exceed customer needs.

Salary: $103,000 per year;
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Electrode Manufacturing Process Engineer, as an Equipment Engineer, as a Defect Engineer, or in a related occupation;
