In this position...
Develop and lead engineering efforts for Recertification, Refurbishment, and Remanufacture (Re-X) of various HV Propulsion components to implement high-value service solutions for electrified powertrains
Work will include supporting the development and release of HV propulsion components for service and their related specifications by interfacing with the various Electrified Propulsion Engineering teams and Ford Customer Service Division
What you'll do...
Lead PD EV Re-X Engineering efforts, including reverse engineering of components / assemblies
Work cross functionally with HV Battery Components teams and FCSD to launch Re-x programs for High voltage EV components
Work with the Quality OPD program engineers to access global quality documents (GCQIS/AWS) to obtain and assess service history of EV components
Understand calibration software impact upon Re-X projects
Support the development, revision and releasing of Re-X EV engineering specifications
Support the release service part numbers and Engineering Specifications though WERS
Coordinate with EPE core/applications teams to support the development of the Reman BOMs, service BOMs and change logs for EV unique components across BEV/FHEV/PHEV vehicle applications
Support FCSD with the development and verification of the Re-X process related End of Line and PV tests
Assess and help drive the execution of Re-X related SREAs
Support FCSD in the development of Service Engineering requirements (Re-X ESOW & SBOM) in the Purchasing Request for Quote (RFQ) process
Support FCSD with the development of the Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW)
Support the development of Refurbished/Remanufacturing Core classification creation
Support FCSD with ongoing quality evaluations, APQP and PPAP
Contribute to the development of Business cases
Support the development of engineering solutions to further utilize core and existing stock to increase re-use as well as to resolve backorder / demand issues
Support joint Product Development and FCSD initiatives
Provide engineering support for Service Parts Warranty (SPW), Core disposition, Material Cost Savings, Total Value Management (TVM), and Complexity Reduction initiatives
Support the FCSD team in the management of components, and component release, via WERS, PCR, CMMS etc. as necessary
Ensure all engineering requirements and other deliverables necessary to achieve PPAP or project signoff
You'll have...
B.S. in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical
Technical understanding of Electric Vehicle Systems
5+ Years of engineering experience
2+ years of HV EV component engineering experience
Proficient knowledge of Digital Buck, TeamCenter, CATIA, or other CAD/CAE tools and able to coordinate CAD support from suppliers and internal pack teams
Knowledge of GD&T standards, 2D print and tolerance stack up analysis methods
Knowledge of stampings, castings, and injection molded plastics preferred
Experience in DVP&R development and evaluation
Experience with Quality documents (DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, etc.)
Experience writing requirements documents (ES) and evaluating supplier designs to requirements
HV Battery and related safety experience
Ability to work effectively with various functions of a vehicle program
Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail
Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, presentation, and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills, able to effectively interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Minimal travel expected, primarily SE Michigan Ford facilities
