Job Summary
Transports patients throughout the hospital in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Communicates with the dispatcher on runs, delays, etc. Maintains transportation equipment and completes department records and transportation forms.
Essential Functions
Transports patients to their tests and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
Collaborates with the nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in providing quality patient care.
Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Completes departmental records and transport forms.
Meets the department's standard of 18+ (18-24) runs in an 8 hr. shift.
Returns equipment to their appropriate locations. (i.e. wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks).
Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Provides information and gives updates within specified time intervals.
Keeps the dispatchers informed of any delays, changing of equipment, etc.
Appropriately interacts with other departments when giving or receiving patient information.
Maintains "positive" interactions with co-workers, patients, visitors, and staff.
