Nurse Tech Responsibilities:
Checking blood sugars
Completing patient intakes, medical history, and updating electronic medical record
Performing wound care
Ambulating patients after surgery
Monitoring patient behaviors, safety, and changes in condition
Partnering with clinical team to provide excellent patient care
Performing patient personal hygiene as well as bed bathing
Maintaining a clean, safe and sterile patient environment
Explaining care instructions to patients and family members
The Nurse Tech role will require 4 days of training in our simulation center and EPIC training with our Nurse Educators. These are pre-scheduled and required classes from 8 a.m. to 5:00 pm. These in person classes typically take place on Mon, Tues, Wed and Friday the first week of employment. Because these classes are prescheduled, you must attend each day. We are unable to reschedule the required dates if you cannot attend. Attendance is compensated.
Summary
Provide a broad variety of care for a group of patients under the direction and supervision of the RN or physician. This may include delegated components of, the assessment and discharge process, basic patient education, unit specific treatments/procedures and diagnostic modalities, activities of daily living and dietary assistance.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
ARC or AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
