Job Description
This position evaluates waste analysis plans, environmental monitoring plans, and waste characterization plans for facilities that manage hazardous waste under Part 111, Hazardous Waste Management, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (Part 111), the administrative rules promulgated pursuant to Part 111, and the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended (RCRA), using established policies, procedures, rules, laws, and guidelines. Duties associated with this position include conducting reviews on incoming operating license applications, closure plans, post-closure plans, investigation workplans, and corrective measures/implementation workplans and reports. This position is also responsible for conducting operation and maintenance (O&M) inspections, comprehensive monitoring evaluation (CME) inspections, corrective action inspections, and compliance sampling inspections at hazardous waste management facilities, and evaluating soils, groundwater, leachate, surface water, soil gas, and indoor air data to determine compliance with the Part 111 requirements. Perform follow-up activities as necessary. Provide assistance to senior staff in enforcement cases.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, engineering, physical sciences, resource development, or resource management.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, crop and soil science, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, forest management, geology, ecology, meteorology, microbiology, physics, remote sensing, resource development, resource management, toxicology, or zoology.

One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.
Environmental Quality Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.
