Job Summary
This certified pharmacy technician maintains accountability for the supervision of pharmacy technician staff. Coordinates process improvement activities and resolves human resource issues. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Provides assistance to pharmacy leadership in supervising pharmacy technician staff located throughout the Corewell Health system.
Essential Functions
Ability to perform all Pharmacy Tech essential functions at an authoritative/expert resource level, under the direction of a pharmacist.
Participates in interviewing pharmacy technician candidates and makes recommendations regarding hiring. Supervises pharmacy technician staff, evaulates performance and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organizational philosophy in collaboration with a Pharmacy Supervisor and under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
Drafts and monitors the technician schedule to ensure adequate coverage of support personnel and make adjustments as needed to department requirements.
Assists in development, administers and monitors staff competencies and department required testing. Provides orientation, in-services and educational opportunities for technicians, interns and support personnel.
Ensures continuous communication and collaboration with nursing staff and other Corewell Health hospital team members to facilitate coordination and improvement of services, as well as problem resolution.
Provides monitoring and reports for monthly reports and special projects.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
Required Associate's Degree or equivalent
2 years of relevant experience Required
2 years of relevant experience CPhT experience in a hospital pharmacy Preferred
2 years of relevant experience at Corewell Health Hospital pharmacy Preferred
1 year of relevant experience supervisory or lead experience Preferred
CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required
LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
