- Greet patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner.
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, waitlists, and rescheduling requests.
- Verify and update patient information in the electronic health records system.
- Handle patient billing, process payments, and navigate insurance claims and verifications.
- Provide patients with information on clinic services, treatment procedures, and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to facilitate effective patient care.
- Address and resolve patient concerns and ensure a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and schedule patients on the waitlist.
- Monitor waiting area activity and assure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
- Ability to respond professionally with a high degree of empathy and multiple problem-solving strategies if customers are unhappy.
- Ability and willingness to learn quickly and use new skills.
- Reliable and timely attendance is a must.
- Active listening and information technology skills.
Associate Level:
- 2 or more years of clerical experience in an outpatient setting
Assistant Level:
- 0 - 2 years of clerical experience in an outpatient setting
- Knowledge of Epic front desk and scheduling system.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong active listening skills.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of university policies & procedures.
This position is full-time (40 hours). Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 7am-5:30pm. Normal schedule will be 8am-4:30pm. Flexibility to cover hours to meet clinic needs (i.e. vacation or sick time) is desired.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
