Cherry Health AmeriCorps is a Public Health AmeriCorps program focused on decreasing health disparities and increasing health care access for the underserved. Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the State, members engage in direct service with those in need. Members provide Medicaid enrollment assistance, health education, and other supportive services such as health care interpretation. Developing the next generation of the health care workforce is another focus of Cherry Health AmeriCorps. Members gain foundational health care experience through their service assignments and receive workforce training, including Community Health Worker and health care interpreter certification.
