Description We are offering a unique opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Plymouth, Michigan. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including account reconciliations, providing information to external auditors, and various accounting projects. The position also involves the use of various accounting and finance systems and requires a strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), among other skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of accounts
Assist external auditors during the year-end audit process
Participate in bank reconciliations and other related accounting projects
Manage the process of matching, batching, coding, and entering invoices
Take responsibility for entering, posting, and reconciling batches
Research and resolve any accounts payable or accounts receivable issues with customers or vendors
Update and reconcile the sub-ledger to the general ledger on a regular basis
Maintain cash applications, account reconciliations, and chargebacks
Use a variety of software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Dynamics for various accounting tasks. Requirements - Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role.
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Experience in executing bank reconciliations.
Familiarity with the General Ledger and Journal Entries.
Experience with Month End Close procedures.
Proficiency in using accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Dynamics.
Experience in conducting External Audits.
Expertise in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
Experience in Coding Invoices.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly desirable.
