Job Details

Salary:   Wage and benefits to be in accordance with the Master Agreement for Certified Staff.

Certification/Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (required);
2. Evidence of full licensure for an occupational therapist through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) (required) and National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT);
3. Experience working with all school-aged groups (preschool through age 26)
4. Experience developing parent training and support programs;
5. Experience and knowledge of special education guidelines for qualifying for school-based services;
6. Experience in the development of IEPs;
7. Experience in case management for preschool through age 26
8. Experience providing consultative services to adults in a variety of settings;
9. Expertise in mentoring other colleagues and supervise COTAs in and outside of the profession;
10. Skilled in provision of oral-motor treatment, sensory processing difficulties, and developing compensatory and treatment strategies;
11. Skilled in evaluation of pre-school and school aged children with standardized and non-standardized methods.
12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
