The Specialty/Invasive APP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Specialty/Invasive APP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/ CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Requires a bachelor's degree; completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program; and Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA). -OR- Requires a Bachelor's in Nursing; completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; Michigan state licensure; Requires certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (Requires good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as organizational skills, familiarity with computers, and excellent analytical and decision- making skills.
Previous EP experience highly preferred.
1 Year of APP Cardiology experience.
Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS.
Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
