Exciting Part-Time Opportunity: Communication & Events Manager Position Available
Part-Time Position: 32 hours per week
Compensation: $18/hour (includes mileage and phone allowances)

Job Duties:
1. Communication Strategy:

- Current publications include: Weekly Monday emails, Monthly Newsletters, pre- and post- event promotions, website calendar updates, website page updates, etc.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for the chamber to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Create and maintain a content calendar for various communication channels, including social media, email newsletters, website, and press releases.
- Write, edit, and proofread content to ensure accuracy and alignment with the chamber's branding.
2. Public Relations:

- Cultivate relationships with local media outlets, journalists, and bloggers to promote the chamber's activities and member achievements.
- Maintain social media platforms by answering questions, messages, etc.
3. Member Engagement:

- Collaborate with the Membership Manager to engage members through effective communication channels.
- Promote member businesses, events, and success stories to highlight their contributions to the community.
- Ensure MembershipWorks accounts are up-to-date
- Process new and renewing member accounts
4. Event Management:

- Monthly events include: 1st Friday Coffee Connect, 3rd Thursday Coffee Connect, YPG, Healthcare Network Meetings, Spotlight Lunches, etc.
- Plan, organize, and execute various chamber events, including networking mixers, educational seminars, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and annual meetings.
- Coordinate event logistics, such as venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
- Maintain event registration lists and process payments related to event and sponsorships
5. Event Promotion:

- Create event marketing materials and promotional strategies to attract attendees.
- Use various marketing channels to generate interest and registration for chamber events.
6. Sponsorship Management:

- Seek and manage event sponsorships to support event budgets and promote chamber partners.
- Ensure sponsors receive proper recognition and benefits.
7. Community Engagement:

- Engage with local businesses, community organizations, and government agencies to foster positive relationships and promote chamber initiatives.
8. Volunteer Coordination:

- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for events and communication projects.
- Ensure a smooth and efficient operation during events.
9. Data Analysis:
-
- Collect and analyze data on communication and event performance.
- Use analytics to make data-driven decisions and improve future strategies.
- Assist Executive Director in maintaining Google Business Profile
10. Reporting and Documentation:
-
- Maintain records of communication and event activities, including attendance, feedback, and costs.
11. Collaboration:
-
- Collaborate with other chamber leadership, such as the Membership Manager, Executive Director, Ambassadors, and Board of Directors, to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts.
- Assist internal committees such as the Young Professionals Group, Government Affairs, etc.
12. Office:
-
- Order office supplies
- Return voicemail calls
- Ensure correct adds for profile displays
- Maintain “members only” section of flyers/business cards area
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 Ibs. in accordance with moving office supplies/equipment and transport marketing materials.
Additional duties and event requirements may be assigned as needed and all other duties deemed necessary by the manager to successfully meet business needs.
