Position Summary: The Lead Day Camp Counselor will monitor, lead, and control a group of children. This position will work with children, fellow counselors, and staff to provide a safe and meaningful summer day camp experience in a Christian environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to a group of counselors
Supervise groups of campers ages 6-12
Be the responsible staff for all off-site activities. Duties include parking, paying admissions, collecting receipts, lunch arrangements, and disciplinary actions, as needed
Act as a liaison between the director and staff
Supervise the daily clean up of all areas used by day camp
Attend all staff meetings, programs, and planned activities
Pick up supplies as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
Willingness to learn new software as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
