Assistant Prosecuting Attorney I
General Summary
Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney, reviews and authorizes requests for warrants, determines the appropriate charge and prosecutes criminal cases. Regularly presents cases in probate court and paternity and support cases in circuit court as well as criminal cases in district and circuit court. Attempts to resolve and dispose of criminal cases or tries case in court.
Employment Qualifications
Education: Law degree from an accredited law school.
Experience: Prefer some criminal law experience.
Other Requirements: Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.

Ability to access all courtrooms within the County, including the ability to drive or otherwise be transported to the District Court.
Ability to remove books weighing up to 10 lbs. from bookshelves and transport to worksite.
Ability to carry briefcase, files, and legal volumes to courtrooms.
Working Conditions:
Works in office and courtrooms.
Exposure to individuals charged and/or convicted of a variety of criminal offenses.
