GENERAL SUMMARY:
Great inpatient opportunity for selected APP to expand your clinical knowledge and technical skills in an exciting academic teaching facility.
The Cardiac Surgery ICU team is comprised of a combination of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PA) who function as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) responsible for the assessment and management of cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant patients in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).
Responsible for providing advanced assessment, differential diagnosis, clinical decision making, performing advanced clinical procedures and initiation of treatment plans in collaboration with the attending cardiac surgeons and CVICU intensivists.
Every 3rd weekend required.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The NP or PA ICU/Critical Care will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary critical care unit.
The NP or PA ICU/Critical Care will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to critically ill patients and their families.
Provides inpatient medical care for critically ill patients requiring ICU level of care. Works in collaboration with intensivist physicians, attending physicians, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master's degree in nursing or requires a Bachelor's Degree; completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program; and Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner ACNP or AGACNP.. Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license, current.
National Provider Identification number, current.
