SUMMARY
Die Maker has the responsibility for completing of die repair maintenance and improvements, design changes, safely, accurately and on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Must maintain a regular, reliable, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sharpen, inspect, and maintain existing production tooling to produce quality stampings that comply with Dennen standards and customer standards.
- Suggest and implement improvements to current tooling.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise with production tooling.
- Fabricate production aids (chutes, simple gages, etc) for use on the floor.
- Procurement and inventory control of items needed to maintain/repair dies.
- Safely operate and maintain all equipment used in die shop.
- Keep a clean and safe work environment following 5S standards.
- Report all accidents and injuries
- Work assigned schedule
- Meet Attendance Requirements
- Complete all assigned work (including all necessary paperwork) safely, accurately and on time
- Relay all necessary information to production control and manufacturing departments to ensure quality and on time delivery of product
- Understand and have a working knowledge of all job related Quality Objectives, Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions.
- Responsible for following work instructions for Kanban pull systems.
IMPACT ON CUSTOMER QUALITY Failure to perform these activities will likely result in dissatisfaction to the internal/external customer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and Journeyman card with at least 8-10 years’ experience. (Heavy die experience preferred).
- Working knowledge of machine shop equipment such as mills and surface grinders required. Crane operating and lean manufacturing experience a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Crane License preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals. Has the ability to write routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Physical Demands:
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, finger, handle or feel, reach, and talk or hear; occasionally required stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must have the vision and dexterity to maneuver objects weighing up to 40lbs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually loud. All proper PPE must be worn in all manufacturing areas and responsible for maintaining PPE standards.
