GENERAL PURPOSE
An employee in this position performs semi-skilled tasks involving maintenance and repair of City vehicles and equipment. Employee also assists senior repairmen.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work is performed under the supervision of Assistant Public Works Superintendent, Senior Repairmen and Public Works Superintendent.

None.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Small engine repair and maintenance, including lawnmowers, snow blowers and other equipment
? Service, maintenance and repair of light trucks, heavy equipment and other machinery
? Heavy manual labor replacing transmissions, differentials, axles, engines and other parts
? Assist in repairing pumps, grinders, transmissions, boilers, and other machinery and equipment
? General welding, sandblasting, and steel fabrication
? Assist senior mechanics as needed
? Other projects assigned by the supervisor
? Monthly maintenance checklist (fuel pumps, tanks, building, and equipment)
? As an extension of the Street Crew, this position is responsible for essential duties and responsibilities consistent with the labor classification job description
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
Snow plowing, construction projects, equipment operation
CONSEQUENCES OF ERROR
Injury to self or others, and in extreme circumstances, death.
Financial harm to employer.
