Maintenance II – D will repair equipment during downtime situations, perform routine maintenance on equipment at scheduled intervals, and repair serviceable components offline.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Answer production downtime calls in a timely manner with a focus on positive internal customer service.
• Develop and expand skills and knowledge by learning from and working with more experienced maintenance team members.
• Troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause and make quality repairs.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment, while documenting work in Maintenance Management System.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment.
• Record repairs of faulty equipment.
• Keep accurate inventory records.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active participation in the Gentex-sponsored Apprenticeship Program or 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Standard Timing Model mechanical assessment score equal to or greater than 40%.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Meet the Following Physical Demands:
  • High level of hand dexterity/coordination
  • Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
  • Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning the body around equipment of varying heights
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
