POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Operator position is team-centered, task-oriented, and focused on production activities including wire preparation/termination, testing, and packaging. Cross training into shipping, receiving, and other department activities is required. Operators must demonstrate cohesive teamwork and company core values, show excellence in workmanship and a relentless pursuit of precision and quality in support of customers. Reliable and predictable attendance are required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & EXPECTATIONS
• Accurately follow standard process, work, and test instructions.
• Wire cutting and stripping with hand-operated and semi-automated equipment.
• Wire termination with machine press terminal applicator.
• Apply wire seals, housings, labels, or other small items by hand.
• Testing lights with visual pass/fail inspection.
• May perform inspections of product, labels, or packages
• Data entry of production, inspection, and test activities.
• Packaging of lights and related products.
• Awareness of packaging, shipping, and labeling requirements for parcel and LTL shipments.
• Assuring customer expectations and requirements are met.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• Fundamental computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

• Mechanical aptitude including printers, computers, AMP presses, tapers, and more.
• Willing and able to obtain a forklift license.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
• Able to independently lift up to 40 lbs. regularly, and 75+ lbs. with assistance, occasionally.
• Able to work with and manipulate small parts by hand throughout the work shift.
• Able to stand and sit for various lengths of time.
• Able to bend/twist and reach.
• Visual capabilities to see small parts and small print with or without corrective lenses.
• Able to differentiate between colors and patterns.
• Fast paced, team oriented, light manufacturing environment.
• Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of probationary period as a Production Operator (Temp) or equivalent work experience.
