DESRIPTION:
Under general supervision by the Manager of EAP, provides intake assessments, short-term counseling, and referrals to employees and their families of HFHS and external client companies, with work related, mental health, and/or chemical dependency issues. Works cooperatively with Human Resources Management and Business Partners on how to effectively cope and communicate with the troubled employee. Develops and conducts employee and management presentations on work related, substance abuse, mental health, and wellness issues. Conducts management consults to address problem behaviors. Answers phones as needed and manages crisis calls/situations. Maintain client records in a computer data base, and other related duties as necessary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides short term solution focused counseling services for employees and their dependents, such as performance issues, mental health and/or substance abuse issues, and other personal issues
Ensures that any need for crisis intervention is handled immediately whether in person or on the phone
Establishes and maintains effective and confidential record-keeping and data management reporting system
Assists supervisors in identifying work performance problems that may indicate a need for EAP services
Works with other members of the HR department to coordinate EAP with other facets of employee wellness and health services
Conducts Formal referrals and Last Chance Agreements as needed
Shares responsibility of a 24 hour crisis line - responsible for coverage at one month intervals after hours for crisis calls
Provides referrals and/or community resources as appropriate for life-work, psychological and/or chemical dependency issues
Handles after care monitoring (following up with employees and/or providers to ascertain the safety of employees, continuation of treatment, etc.)
Acts as a point of contact on EAP matters both for internal (on site) and external customers
Ensures development and implementation of program promotion and awareness activities to employees such as educational workshops, etc.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EDUCATION
Minimum of a Master's degree in a behavioral health field
Michigan Licensure as an LLP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
At least 3-5 years Clinical counseling experience (post graduate)
Computer proficiency
Substance abuse knowledge experience
Crisis hotline/intervention experience
Prior EAP experience preferred
Course development/facilitation experience preferred
