The Seats & Motion Division is a market leader in the manufacture of state-of-the-art seating, plastic head-rest bezels, and battery indicators. Our business is seeking an Engineering Manager based in Rockford, MI.
The Production Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing the activities of the production department across multiple shifts within the facility to maximize productivity while ensuring safety and quality and minimizing cost.
Drive improvement in all manufacturing processes using the ITW Toolbox.
Manage costs within plan budget & prepare costs forecast and analysis as necessary. Maintain accuracy in reporting and budgetary controls.
Create a cohesive team atmosphere that facilitates work towards common goals. Promote good employee relations. Establish and encourage a climate of responsiveness to individual concerns and job performance.
Ensure inventories are managed properly to maintain high levels of on-time delivery, customer service, and order fulfillment.
Ensure company objectives of safety, quality, delivery, and cost are met and exceeded.
Ensure quality KPI's are met by ensuring quality control procedures and processes are adhered to.
Achieve highest level of inventory accuracy by coordinating with accounting, performing cycle counts, adopting fixed locations for material/equipment, and utilizing visual inventory systems.
Maximize quality performance through standardization and repeatability of processes.
Promote, support, and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5 to 10 years of manufacturing or closely related experience with strong leadership ability
Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
Supervisory skill set - knowledge of subordinate monitoring, coaching and counseling.
Demonstrated capability to manage and improve Manufacturing processes.
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and 6 Sigma preferred.
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to function independently, exercises sound judgment and decision making
Must have ability to manage ambiguity
Effective problem resolution skills combined with "big picture" awareness
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift 35 lbs. on occasion.
Must be able to climb ladders on occasion.
