Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment for the Great Lakes Buildings + Places Practice with location in either the Grand Rapids or Detroit office.
Our Practice is an energetic, fast-paced, fun environment with projects that vary widely in type, scope, and complexity. We are looking for a person who wants to apply their passion for healthcare and health sciences and enthusiasm for project management in a collaborative work environment. The Project Manager should have a strong Healthcare client-relationship base within the Midwest, expect to actively participate in business development, and have active-status membership in professional and/or industry organizations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Manage multiple projects with varying schedules, budgets and clients
At a project level, provide clear guidance to designers and technical staff to meet client objectives
Management and productivity oversight planning, implementing, and project controls. Client interface and relationship building is a key part of this requirement
Provide support and direction to the design teams, in the control over quality, time and cost
Write and coordinate winning proposals, attract new clients and retain current clients as required
Manage financial and cost control aspects of projects
Meet with clients to review project requirements
Manage a project team to produce fully coordinated working drawings and project specifications
Collaborate with management on preparation of project proposals;
Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing with project team and clients
Manage preparation of design and contract documents, document checking, conduct construction review and contract administration throughout the duration of a project
Create and implement existing controls, systems, tools and procedures to assure all project deliverables are being addressed, and controlled in conformance to the contract obligations as a minimum
Communicate with construction team to provide information and help resolve problems
Responsible for overseeing several active projects and be part of our marketing team in sourcing new work
Client communication, internal project team communication, consultant coordination, design development, drawing review and contract administration
Comply with and attend company offered training and professional development classes
Maintain overall quality of your work, files, and communications, including deliverables
Preparation of weekly and monthly reports providing status on scope,, schedule, budget, and critical issues across all team members, and project's phases
Prepare and or assist as needed in responses and proposals to RFPs
Manage client/firm relationships
Research and resolve problems
Negotiate fee changes as necessary
Review client billing and perform A/R follow-up as necessary
Assist in marketing efforts to secure additional projects with existing clients and to expand current client base
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture or related field + 6 years of relevant experience in project management for healthcare facility design projects or related field or demonstrated equivalency and/or education
Registered Architect, PE, or PMP
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong presentation skills
Project Management experience on REVIT projects
Working knowledge of Revit
Strong understanding of A/E design coordination and technical delivery requirements
Trusted client advisor in Healthcare
Subject matter expertise in Health Sciences / Higher Education
Passionate about healthy, sustainable and resilient design
Additional Information
Offered rate of compensation (Michigan locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $106,000 - $171,000.
