6C is a 32 bed Pulmonary Medicine Unit with a specialty in Cystic Fibrosis.
- Provide patient care under direct supervision of the RN.
- Perform procedures, including setting up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment such as bedside scales, doppler, accucheck and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Specimen collection.
- Provide personal hygiene to patients and other delegated nursing procedures.
- Monitor, set up and maintain the operations of clinical equipment.
- Stock and maintain inventory of specialized areas.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent, ability to read and write, and one of the following:
- 6 months experience in skilled long-term facility/acute care hospital OR
- Enrolled in a nursing program and have completed fundamentals of nursing course OR
- 1 year experience short-term care facility (i.e. rehab) OR
- Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program
- Progressive knowledge in methods, procedures, materials, and equipment of designated area.
Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting, and positioning patients and equipment as well as constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Medical Assistant program; basic computer skills; course work in an Allied Health field.
Shift/Hours: Day/Night Shift, 36 hours per week
