Senior Software Engineer This is a fully remoterole - must be based in USA About the Team Digital Assessment Platform Security Engineering is a new team being formed within the Product Security division to address complex security challenges across our desktop and cloud-based software stack. We ensure that the Bluebook software running on MacOS, iPad, Windows, and ChromeOS, as well as the underlying services operating in AWS are secure and resilient through contributions of well-engineered production code. About the Opportunity As a Senior Software Engineer on the Digital Assessment Platform Security Engineering team, you're a leader and collaborator who is comfortable contributing production code to multiple applications owned by various other teams. You have a strong interest in security within software engineering and comfortable applying sound software engineering principles in multiple programming languages and frameworks. You're eager to take on new work, and your contribution to all phases of software engineering within and across teams is valuable. Your efforts are aimed at making our digital assessment platform more secure than ever before. In this role, you will: Design & Implementation (75%) * Collaborate daily with engineering teams using mob programming to address and solve complex technical problems * Work across teams to integrate solutions into production code bases while adhering to established software engineering standards * Apply your deep understanding of the applications to design and implement innovative security solutions for desktop, mobile and cloud software * Write complex code, building infrastructure as code, work with immutable "cloud" based environments, and build the supporting automated tool sets necessary to support the secure continuous delivery pipeline Team Operations and Success (25%) * Drive continuous improvement of the team's engineering practices, efficiency, speed, and quality * Participate in conversations and offer opinions on proposed architecture, testing strategies, developer experience, security, performance, and resilience * Conduct peer reviews of software engineering artifacts About You You have: * 7+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering commercial software * Demonstrated full-stack software engineering experience using JavaScript and TypeScript * Strong knowledge of AWS and building and delivering serverless applications at scale * Experience in DevOps and CICD automation and tooling in GitHub and AWS * Experience developing client applications using the Electron framework * Strong knowledge of cloud security and application security * Experience establishing software engineering standards and performing code and design reviews * A passion for learning and a growth mindset * You must be authorized to work in the US Differentiators: * Any contributions to the Electron open-source project will be considered a substantial advantage * If you have hands-on experience developing software using C++ on Windows, it adds a distinctive edge on your profile About Our Process * Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled * While the hiring process may vary, it generally includes resume and application submission, recruiter phone screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise such as live coding, a panel interview, a conversation with leadership and reference checks About Our Benefits and Compensation College Board offers a competitive benefits and compensation program that attracts top talent looking to make a difference in education.
