GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, this position performs project work of a sophisticated and complex nature, with responsibility for project planning, analysis, and execution. Prepares reports and recommendations for management and coordinates implementation, as necessary. Acts as consultant to projects outside of specific assignment but pertaining to areas of expertise and may supervise business intelligence team members, analysts, and other professional staff as they pertain to duties assigned to the Manager. Performs departmental administrative activities as assigned and communicates regularly with stakeholders from across the System. May work individually or as part of a project team but often works with System and business unit senior leaders and their executive teams on a wide variety of topics and/or projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts review of organization and functional areas on a project basis, acts as project lead for individual or team projects.
Serves as facilitator of multi-disciplinary project teams; guides teams through complex process/function changes.
Facilitates large system-wide or multi-entity redesign projects, assisting senior leadership in maximizing resources and efficiencies.
Provides consulting advice to top administrative and medical management.
Documents current systems and operations. Analyzes client systems, procedures, and operations and identifies opportunities for improvement. Assists in the implementation of revised or new methods.
Prepares written and verbal presentations of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Guides staff inclusive of Data Scientists in performing operations analysis and decision support activities. Identifies internal staff development needs and opportunities for improvement or enhancement of staff skills.
Keeps management information of project progress and problems, particularly as to needed changes in schedule, resources, or product.
As project lead, has the following additional responsibilities: 1) developing and defining project scope and objectives, 2) developing and refining project work plan, 3) guiding day-to-day activities of the project team, 4) supplying periodic project updates to client and to Leadership, 5) preparing project management reports, and 6) coordinating the written and verbal presentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in appropriate technical field.
Master's degree in Business or a relevant operational field preferred.
Experience delivering data product to business end users in a Healthcare System preferred.
Must possess previous supervisory and/or consulting experience as well as one or more specific areas of relevant expertise.
Significant project management experience and outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical leadership.
Strong leadership/mentoring skills applicable to organizational senior leadership teams, Operational Analytics staff, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong base of technical, facilitative, and process improvement knowledge.
Ability to teach complex technical/analytical concepts to non-Management Services managers and staff.
Knowledge of and access to relevant System data or data gathering techniques.
Sound decision-making skills.
Strong diplomacy and collaboration skills.
Strong computing skills.
