We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our small but growing Cloud Engineering team. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, performance, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure and related cloud-based technologies for our products. They will lead projects as well as assist others, including managed service providers, with problem resolution. The ideal candidate must have the ability to plan, design, and deliver new cloud deployments with minimal supervision. Engineer, automate, and orchestrate system provisioning and maintenance processes using modern cloud tools and technologies.Plan, design and develop cloud-based applications.
Understand the needs for new initiatives to build scalable, distributed and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms.
Maintain and modernize existing applications' infrastructure.
Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
Research and analyze cloud technology trends and recommend appropriate changes and future enhancements.
Install, configure, maintain, and support applications and servers in public cloud environments.
Manage cloud environments in accordance with DaySmart's security guidelines and generally accepted best practices.
Help foster a culture of continuous improvement for how we build and operate cloud infrastructure.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree computer science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
5+ years of experience as an SRE, DevOps, Cloud Engineering or related work.
5+ years of experience working with AWS.
Knowledge and practical experience with AWS Lambda and other serverless AWS services.
Deep knowledge of running containerized workloads (Kubernetes or Docker).
Knowledge of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) with practical experience in at least one of terraform, AWS CDK or serverless framework.
Knowledge of monitoring tools like AWS Cloudwatch, Datadog, New Relic.
Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies.
Working knowledge of common platform engineering practices.
Knowledge and practical experience with Agile methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Github Actions.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Must be self-directed and self-motivated.
Experience with env0 is a plus.
AWS Certification is a plus.
