In this position...
The Campaign Prevent Specialist (CPS) role within Internal Combustion Thermal System Engineering is an integral element of the Failure Mode Avoidance process & is intended to detect & eliminate issues that could result in field service actions.
As the IPTSE CPS, you will perform campaign prevent awareness sessions, conduct virtual CAD reviews at various design gateways, conduct Fresh Eyes Reviews (FER) & physical, process, system & vehicle audits at all build phases with the goal of detecting & eliminating potential campaigns. This position will lead all campaign prevent aspects for IPTSE (Engine, Air Induction, Exhaust, Fuel, Climate, Cooling and Mount) function.
What you'll do...
Support Prevent Action Closure Papers related to the FER class 1 issues.
Lead and maintain Internal PRA (Prevent Recurrence Action) issues.
Maintain & utilize ITPSE Campaign Prevent Checklist.
Maintain competitive recalls & associated lessons learned & quality history.
Upstream: Create program specific campaign prevention plans, conduct awareness sessions, schedule & lead deep dive reviews & Fresh Eyes Reviews (FER) on all forward model programs, organize sign-off for all Lessons Learned & PRAs. Conduct DD#1 & DD#2a/b reviews & Ensure Health Chart Campaign Prevent Compliance.
Downstream: Conduct Campaign Prevent Fresh Eyes Reviews (FERs) of prototype, pre-durability, post-durability, pre-production (all major builds) & production vehicles. A Line Walk, plant process review, visual aids & part handling reviews must be conducted as part of vehicle level FERs. Conduct High Impact Supplier visits & audit DFMEAs, SCCAFS, PFMEAs, CCs & SCs, high RPN operations & control plans. Ensure proper linkages, reaction plan & right characteristics are being checked. Review EOL tester for test loads & test set up. Walk the process & perform spot audits to ensure prior issues have been adequately addressed.
Create & maintain master campaign prevention matrix with proper linkages.
Plan & execute regular reviews of high leverage/criticality IPTSE suppliers.
Develop plans with suppliers to proactively monitor field quality.
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in automotive powertrain design & release.
Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in engine / powertrain system design & release.
Ability to drive supply base & interface with supplier leadership.
An aptitude for developing people & processes.
Strong understanding of statistical analysis & failure mode avoidance.
Ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders including program teams, purchasing, manufacturing, STA & suppliers.
Experience & skill in identifying issues that could lead to campaigns.
Knowledge of quality operating systems including statistical analysis.
Excellent communication skills.
