Job Summary
Located within the wellness center, the child watch area affords members a safe harbor in which to leave their children while they experience the wellness center offerings worry-free. The Child Activities Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to members by ensuring proper safety and care for the children they have entrusted to the child watch area.
Essential Functions
Oversee the delivery, care, and pickup of all children in the child watch area to ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games, reading to children, simple crafts, songs, etc.
Maintain and monitor the sign-in and sign-out procedure for all children. Keep records on individual children as appropriate.
Keep all playroom areas clean, neat, and safe for children. Disinfect all toys and equipment at the end of the shift and as necessary during their shift.
Exhibits strong observation and intervention skills and communicate in a calm fashion as appropriate with children and their parent(s).
Provide Lead with input on current child watch activities and suggestions for future activities.
Administer BLS as the need arises.
Greet customers with eyes, voice and smile. Give full attention to customers until the transaction is completed. Explain your role/expectations to your customers. Connect customers properly to the resources they need. Tell customers what should happen next. Acknowledge service problems (no excuses or plan, apologize for their dissatisfaction, acknowledge customer's feelings). Learn about/from service problems (listen, talk, learn). Act on service problems (address customer's concerns, design better solutions, follow up as needed).
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of relevant experience Required
1 year of relevant experience with children in a monitored setting Preferred
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
