The incumbent will focus on courier delivery/pickup of packaged prescription medications and supplies to/from the specialty pharmacy facility. The incumbent will provide supply chain logistics support for the specialty pharmacy and other areas within the Department of Pharmacy.
This 1.0 FTE courier will be responsible for efficiently performing day-to-day delivery duties catering to both specialty patients and supply chain support for the department of pharmacy sites.
Core functions:
- Transfer packaged prescription medications to patient homes according to a prearranged schedule.
- Provide face-to-face, friendly contact and service to customers.
- Answer non-clinical questions from patients and direct clinical questions to appropriate team members.
- May participate in the training of courier staff in the performance of procedures.
- Accurately and reliably complete documentation involved in delivery of patient orders.
- Complete quality assurance audits as directed per the specialty pharmacy department.
- Operate all motor vehicles and handle all equipment in accordance with legal, regulatory, accreditation and University standards.
- Participate in staffing during specialty pharmacy business hours, as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 0-3 years of experience in courier delivery service
- Valid Michigan driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 25 pounds
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
