About the Role
The Global Experiential R&D team creates and administers user studies focusing on sound quality for the Car Audio Strategic Business Unit in Harman. This team works with our EPIC [Customer Insights and Ideation], Engineering, Customer Business Units, and Marketing teams to develop products, establish performance metrics for our brands and perform competitive benchmarking.
We accomplish this through applying robust user testing processes which reveal user preferences and recommendations for optimizing products and predicting consumer satisfaction. The result is a robust combination of objective and subjective data which enables engineers to maximize the end consumer experience and provide confidence that customers are receiving the best possible audio experience.
Your Team
You will work among a highly experienced team of research and engineering professionals who evaluate all of our Car Audio products. You will also work with other Harman functions including EPIC (Early Pursuits for Innovative Concepts), various Customer Business Units, and Engineering teams.
What You Will Do
Developing new user experience and data collection tools for a variety of research applications
Administering consumer studies to help gather data for future product development.
Creating internal customer presentations and/or reports to aid product development justification discussions.
Manage and maintain data integrity in a global database.
Collaborate with other stakeholders to achieve project-based goals
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program.
Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
Senior or graduate level class and project experience in a combination of technical and business activities: data analysis, product management, program management, product development, marketing, engineering, software design, business development, finance
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
Strong self-start, drive for results, collaboration, leadership, and follow through
Ability to discern insight in ambiguous or imperfect data sets,and anticipate the next steps
What is Nice to Have
Aptitude for developing new things
Software, DSP, or Software as a Product experience
General interest in playing music or reproducing music
Interest, experience, and/or passion for audio and sound systems
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in an office in Novi, MI
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 40 hours per week depending on workload
