Position Available: Part Time Armed Security Supervisor for Event Team
Schedule: Mostly weekends with occasional weekdays, Flexible availability needed.
Location: Will mainly work at Dort Financial Event Center in Flint but from time-to-time work at other various locations
Wage: $19 per hour

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of Security Division with overseeing, supervising, and directing security officers on the event team.
- Research and resolve problems related to security division operational issues.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to work.
- Makes rounds to check for security coverage in designated work areas and sites.
- Investigates customer concerns.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Observes activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce rules/regulations; alerts visitors of infractions.
- Assists any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or information.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
- Decides when incident requires written report; decides which report form to use and submits to supervisor.
- Unlocks buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with policies.
- May assist law enforcement officers with crowd control and surveillance at large public events.
- Any other duties assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Surveillance Skills, Incumbent must be able to view and turn head continuously throughout day.
- Deals with Uncertainty, ability to make objective judgment calls.
- Must have emotional control and deliver communication with integrity and respect toward others.
- Lift up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
- Bend, squat, twist, and turn multiple times during your shift, and be on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.
- Any other duties assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- Five or more years of previous supervisory experience; preferably in a security-related field
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Maintain a positive attitude which supports team performance and productivity
- Valid driver’s license required and clear driving record
- Must have team aptitude and approach
- Ability to pass a criminal/drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid CPL
