The Heat Treat Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment as well as determining load sizes, directing loading preparations, preparing of loads, setting of temperatures and time cycles, the setup of equipment, posting of production records and maintaining normal production yields and anything else the Shift Supervisor may request. The Heat Treat Operator performs various duties throughout the heat-treating process for up to (0) furnaces as a member of the heat treat team.
Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor the condition of all heat treat equipmentAnswer and address any alarmsConducts equipment checks and surveysAssists in the loading and unloading of the heat treat systemRuns straightener as necessaryAdvise supervisor of any unsafe condition or equipment problemsRegularly scheduled follow up training and competency evaluation will take place annually and be included with an employee's annual evaluation summary and maintained by HR in the employee records.Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisorWhen necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the jobOther duties as assignedPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:Works in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervisor. Routine responsibilities and duties involve the use of various procedures and application of clearly prescribed standards of practice, requiring the use of good judgement. Must work with a high degree of accuracy. The noise level in the work environment usually moderate. The jobs works in conditions with frequent exposure to loud noise, heavy lifting, heavy overhead lifting, heavy machinery and sharp tools.
