Delta Dental Plan of Michigan, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Software Designer/Implementer (PeopleSoft) based in Okemos, MI. The primary duty of the Senior Software Designer/Implementer (PeopleSoft) is to contribute to the analysis and design speci?cations, and perform programming and testing of system components (PeopleSoft). This position provides technical direction and support to users, peers, and other domain/feature team members ensuring standards are followed and participates in collaboration across ISS and the Business. Specific duties include: 1) Participate in the analysis, design, and development of technical speci?cations, programming, and testing of PeopleSoft application components, including facilitate the creation and maintenance of analysis and design models. 2) Contribute to implementation modeling including de?nition of distribution of system across physical nodes, de?nition of run-time architecture, concurrency requirements, inter-process communication mechanisms, and process lifecycles. 3) Participate in software design and programming reviews and articulate design and enterprise programming standards and guidelines and promote adherence to standards. Mentor team members on story card re?nement and code craft. 4) Advocate development best practices and code quality within their team and in Communities Of Practice. 5) Facilitate adherence to deployment activities, automated testing practices, and development of secure coding practices as de?ned by the enterprise coding standards. 6) Assist the Lead SDI with issue resolution, scalability metrics, integration issues, and response to critical production issues. 7) Maintain knowledge of business requirements. 8) Assist with interviewing, training, developing, and evaluating sta? to meet corporate goals and objectives. 9) Apply an extensive knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL, ideally with Oracle Database. Tools and technologies utilized by the Senior Software Designer/Implementer (PeopleSoft) include: PeopleSoft PeopleTools, including PeopleCode, Application Engine programs, SQR for PeopleSoft, use of the PeopleSoft Application Designer IDE, BI Publisher for PeopleSoft, and Integration Broker. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement. Worker must live within a commutable distance of Okemos, MI and be able to work in-office as required.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a software applications design and programming position. Must also have five (5) years of experience, which may be concurrent, with each of the following: 1) participating in the analysis, design, and development of technical speci?cations, programming, and testing of PeopleSoft application components, including facilitating the creation and maintenance of analysis and design models; 2) contributing to implementation modeling including de?nition of distribution of system across physical nodes, de?nition of run-time architecture, concurrency requirements, inter-process communication mechanisms, and process lifecycles; 3) facilitating adherence to deployment activities, automated testing practices, and development of secure coding practices as de?ned by the enterprise coding standards; 4) applying an extensive knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL, ideally with Oracle Database; and 5) utilizing the following tools and technologies: PeopleSoft PeopleTools, including PeopleCode, Application Engine programs, SQR for PeopleSoft, use of the PeopleSoft Application Designer IDE, BI Publisher for PeopleSoft, and Integration Broker.
