Boiler Machinery Consultant
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical consulting services within established budgets and time frames to various clients. Services include surveys, report writing and account interaction and limited code or regulatory interpretation. Adheres to all corporate policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluate boilers, pressure vessel, electrical, mechanical assets, and facility utility systems
Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Probable Maximum Loss and Maximum Foreseeable Loss
Conducts Loss Control Surveys for prospects and clients
Prepare reports using established formats
Assures adherence to service quality levels at all times
Meets client services time frames and established budgets
Maintains client satisfaction
Participates in development and presentation of selected proposals, stewardship reports and client meetings
May support sales and marketing efforts directly under supervision of the Sales/Marketing staff.
Client satisfaction and contract retention
Maintain service capabilities in all core services within assigned jurisdiction
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment;
Demonstrated, excellent oral and written communication skills;
Self-starter with a positive outlook and motivated attitude;
Technically competent to discuss all core services with at least one area of specialized expertise
Must be able to communicate on a like level with risk management personnel;
General office equipment; telephone, personal computer, printer, copier, scanner and other communication tools.
Provides training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultants
May prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports
Provide project management services to include special visits, plan reviews and oral/written presentation to clients
Actively manage your work assigned in the database
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college degree or five plus years of similar professional experience
Experience in servicing major accounts
Come to a sound conclusion based on information collected and the applicable standards/guidelines required.
Gather and communicate information in a clear and concise report/letter/e-mail.
Ability to manage your own workload
Recognized technical expertise
Experienced using computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point

Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds;
Typically bends, stoops, crouches, crawls on a regular basis to view settings on machinery and/or inspect facilities;
Must be able to climb ladders of upwards to three stores tall or more, open hatches which may be painted shut or are corroded, physically dislodge corroded or affected parts, requiring pushing, pulling and straining, traverse catwalks, constantly move above clients' work sites to gather information for survey reports.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, reach with hands and arms; always requires employee to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. Position requires close vision.
Ability and willingness to communicate frequently if required by telephone, fax and email and other communication tools to ensure that the organization's business is completed effectively and in a timely manner.
The noise level is moderate.
Domestic and/or some international travel may be required.
