Job Summary
To provide safe, knowledgeable massage to patients, survivors, caregivers, staff and the general public within the scope of practice. Applies general and specialized massage techniques. To complete all required documentation for each massage. Maintain a clean, and properly stocked treatment room. If a team leader, massage therapist will assist the manager in day-to-day operations regarding staff and department protocols.
Essential Functions
Successfully complete a health intake.
Create a safe treatment plan for each patient based on contraindications for a variety of patient populations.
Determine and apply appropriate techniques based on patient needs and goals.
Accurately complete charting for each patient.
Independently perform the following physical therapy modalities to patients: moist heat, ultrasound, cold pack, whirlpool, paraffin, mechanical cervical and pelvic traction.
Remain professional and ethical.
Use excellent listening and communication skills.
Help promote department at community and hospital events.
If team leader, assist in supervising massage staff and maintain treatment rooms.
If team leader, supervise massage students to ensure safe treatment of patients. Act as a teaching assistant during massage classes.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Successful completion of entry level massage school, and willingness to complete Corewell Health's Oncology/Hospital Massage Program.
3 years of relevant experience If team leader, minimum three years' massage experience. Required
LIC-Massage Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
