Description:
In conjunction with the Medical Director, directs, plans, organizes, analyzes, develops, and monitors all laboratory services including personnel and technical operations. Collaborates with Medical Staff, Clinical Directors, and Nurse Leaders to coordinate the delivery of laboratory services, with clinical requirements and in the selection and management of the health centers laboratory instruments and related equipment. Manages the operations of the Laboratory by selecting and evaluating subordinate personnel, preparing operating and capital budgets, developing operations policies and procedures, and maintaining a Quality Management program.
What the Director, Clinical Lab Operations will do:
Directs the provision of laboratory services including use the use of personnel and non-personnel resources in accordance with the goals and objectives of the department, and outside regulatory agencies.
Develops and implements departmental operating policies and procedures and operational planning and provides professional and administrative direction necessary to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
Develops and directs the Quality Management program to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and health center standards and regulations. Initiates corrective action when indicated.
Develops annual operating and capital budgets. Monitors budget performance and trends. Analyzes and reports variances to the Vice President.
Monitors productivity and resource utilization. Maintains records of departmental productivity. Recommends reallocation of resources where indicated.
What the Director, Clinical Lab Operations will do:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Five years' experience in a clinical laboratory. Three to five years of leadership experience in a laboratory setting, preferred.
