JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for worksite monitoring, tracking and assistance at GDYT quality worksites with timesheet pickup, verification and worksite compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Visit assigned worksites regularly to pick up timesheets and observe youth participants in work.
- Facilitates summer youth education workshops, explores an exciting project-based thematic curriculum.
- Conducts daily follow-up and actively engages with participants to ensure modules and program requirements are completed on virtual platform.
- Communicate with worksite and youth to address updates in policy and procedure.
- Be knowledgeable of assigned worksites and youth labor laws to ensure worksite compliance.
- Provide youth with support throughout the entire summer work experience.
- Learn safety concepts to identify potential worksite hazards and concerns and ensure the worksite is safe, to prevent potential hazards.
- Address any concerns, issues or needs that youth or site supervisor have.
- Act as a liaison between the worksite and the Year-Round Youth staff.
- Maintain records of worksite observations through logs and reports.
- Ensure timesheets & attendance sheets are accurate.
- Perform data collection and reporting in compliance with the GDYT database and standards as required.
- Notify worksite supervisor of youth reassignment.
- Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associated degree or equivalent experience in social work, guidance counseling or a related field preferred.
- Two years minimum work experience in customer service or community service-oriented environment preferred. Interpersonal skills necessary to build positive relationships with program participants and various support agencies.
- Computer skills necessary to effectively maintain a database and create related reports.
- Bilingual Language Skills in English/Spanish or English/Arabic preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting deadlines, working on tasks requiring concentration and attention to detail and dealing with multiple individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of need.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License. Incumbent must also have reliable transportation to make required visits and travel to off-site locations.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (evenings/weekends).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is a partially active role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and frequently use hands and to talk or hear. Some sedentary work and filing may be required. This would require the ability to sit for extended period of time, lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. -This job operates in a normal school environment with a noise level, which is at times, moderately loud with little discomfort due to noise, dirt, dust and the like. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
