ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience Requirements:
• No formal education is required but must be able to follow standard practices and instructions, keep routine records and communicate with staff, parents, and children.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. is recommended.
• Valid CDL license is required, including ability to pass CDL physical.
• Must have seven years of driving experience.
• Prior experience driving a bus is preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be able to get certification for CPR and First Aid after hire and recertify as required.
Skills and Abilities:
• Bus Drivers should have knowledge about federal, state, and local transportation requirements.
• Knowledge of the geographic locale and, whenever possible, the language spoken by the families served.
• Ability to problem solve and provide leadership whenever an emergency occurs.
• Reaction Time —The ability to quickly respond to a signal when it appears.
• Response Orientation —The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals. It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part.
• Selective Attention —The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
• Peripheral Vision —The ability to see objects or movement of objects to one's side when the eyes are looking ahead.

Background Checks:
• All employees are subject to both a pre-hire and an annual background check. Specific rules by Area of Focus will indicate whether a state or federal fingerprint background check (or both) is required and the frequency. A fingerprint background check may suffice for a regular background check. Additional background checks may be required such as the Child Abuse and Neglect State Registry, and the Sex Offender Registry.
Positions that Require Driving:
• Telamon Corporation / TRC employees that are required to drive a personal vehicle for work-related duties are to meet the auto insurance liability requirement. The minimum limits required are $100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 each accident bodily injury and $50,000 property damage. The insurance liability requirement covers use of an employee’s personal vehicle.
• Telamon Corporation/TRC employees that drive a company-owned/rental vehicle must maintain a satisfactory annual motor vehicle record check.
• Must have own transportation, a valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance.
