EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: At Will
CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is currently 8:00 a.m.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Executive Director or Deputy Director, will facilitate, manage and coordinate marketing programs, communication strategies and initiatives that support the County’s mission, vision and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads a team of marketing and communications professionals.
Facilitates, manages and coordinates marketing programs and initiatives to further the County’s mission, vision, and values.
Directs and manages daily activities of staff and operations to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
Orchestrates a countywide communications strategy including interdepartmental relationships and executive engagement.
Creates partnerships and collaborative relationships with business and community leaders to market and develop the County.
Develop and manage a plan for the County to promote its assets and develop a climate of vitality, growth and diversity.
Grow and maintain relationships with our K-12 and community college partners for talent development and outreach.
Coordinates the production and distribution of marketing tools, such as brochures, advertisements, direct mailings, newsletters, audio-visual presentations and other multimedia tools.
Develops, implements, and conducts a marketing program and various campaigns to gain increased exposure for County businesses and to publicize successful service efforts, including coordinating website content, digital formats and multiple social media platforms.
Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant information and key data to further the marketing efforts for the County.
Assists in arranging exhibits, promotional and professional development seminars, business awards programs and special promotional events.
Coordinates and monitors all contractual advertising, public relations and communications marketing services.
Coordinates oversight of pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities.
Provides management and coordination of venue selection, registration, food and beverage, room blocks, budget, venue, suppliers, and attendee logistics for county events and activities.
Represents the County at meetings and public hearings, as assigned.
Develops and administers budget for staff, programs, projects, and other areas when necessary.
Provides support activities for other departmental program areas and other various projects, as assigned.
Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field

A minimum of five (5) years of marketing experience in the public or private sector requiring extensive contact with business and/or government officials

A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory, management or leadership experience working in a team environment
Preferred Education and Experience

A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field

Previous experience working with a governmental agency or communications and marketing organization
Required Licenses or Certifications
